Slowly unfurling arum lilies

In my ‘sunken’ garden, I have one arum lily which has been promising to flower for weeks, almost as if suspended in time. Several others have now appeared, all waiting in the wings, none actually opening. I don’t get a lot of sun in my garden & I know other places where the lilies are beautifully open, so maybe that’s the reason… who knows….

Restless dormouse!

Aagh, the ever changing weather is giving us stunning skies, unexpected rainbows & very soggy ground! Is it driving anyone else a little bit balmy?! I am a lover of cosying up in the winter & luxuriating in the hibernation quality … but, steady on, now I’m restless & feeling the spring energy, the need to emerge… & keep getting scuppered by dark clouds

Enforced ‘Dormouse’…

Happy gentle emerging into 2016 to you all, unless you’re the type who likes to enter the New Year with a bang… Last year, I got really clear about the fact that I like to hibernate in January, & do my rituals & assessing in a gradual way, with a lot of intuition. So, I was ready to do exactly that this year, feeling

Winding down for the holidays

… Or is it winding up?! As my last treatment day comes to a close, I am completing as much as I can before ‘disconnecting’ from emails & taking time out. Many of you will have now received my bright orange Christmas Newsletter (I felt something cheery was called for), &, in spite of planning  a calm lead up to Christmas, a couple of

A New Start?

Well, it’s always possible to make a new start… though September and January seem to specifically have that energy around them. I’ve sensed it more than usual this year – is it because we’re not still clinging to long, hot, sunny days…? In a lot of the UK in any case, it’s been a bit soggy, to say the least! I wondered if we

Joy in the Rain?!

I love that as I sit down to write this, the sun has come out (here in Cornwall) as if to mock the subject matter! Generally though, July & August have been full of rainy days, and I wanted to explore how not to be downcast. My son is well past days out sploshing around in wellies & puddles with me, so I’m talking

Play, play and more play!

Hmmm, I would love to say the main reason for being ‘out of the loop’ is that I have been working on new ideas (which I have – more of that in due course), but, in fact, it is more that July was full of partying & celebrations!! I reached 60 and took a fair amount of time out to ponder my life, catch up

Apologies & Lying Down…

Hello there… I haven’t dropped off the planet, I’ve simply had my head in other places… so, apologies for the long gap. Lying down is not connected, I’m simply suggesting it’s a great thing to do more of! Start the day by throwing a blanket on the ground while the kettle boils – lie down & gaze up at the sky. I know you’ve

Don’t Put It Off…

I don’t want to be a doom and gloom merchant… but… please, don’t put off exploring and tackling physical ‘niggles’ too long. And… please, don’t ignore them and carry on regardless… for any reason you care to come up with… It’s tempting to be ‘too busy’ to change patterns, to take the time out to heal, to rest… but, believe me, there could be a ton of

Magic!

Too often reserved for children, but what of magic for ‘grown ups‘? I watched an interesting documentary recently on BBC about Complementary/Alternative Therapies, where, in the summing up, there was a suggestion that what’s offered is 70% science and 30% magic. I love this, as it appeals to the part of me that is fairly indifferent as to the why and how… Sorry if
