Fairy lights required?
Hmmm, it’s that time of year already… the days are definitely getting shorter, darkness is coming in earlier & grey days seem to have more impact on any light indoors… For me, that’s a sign to embrace ‘cosy’ fast! So, I make a ‘note to self’ fairy lights on, consider hot water bottles, different music, programmes or movies to have as back ground &
Ease & Flow…
Always, always, I would vote for ease & flow, above pure strength – what I see as a current trend around exercise & fitness. For me, some of the strength is disproportionate to people’s body types, ignoring flexibility which is what keeps our bones & skeleton free to move as was intended. Strong – read as tight -muscles, will often lock the skeleton &
Supporting you…
My aim is to support you to make the best choices for your overall wellbeing. For each & every one of you that will be different, whether that relates more to the purely physical (ie your body) or it’s circumstance, or ‘age’n stage’… And, of course, there’s a combination of all of those, with, perhaps, the focus being more on just one element at
A top tip or 2 for the hot weather…?
I may have told some of you about these, but I think the first one, particularly, is a brilliant ‘top tip’ if you ‘overheat’ in the current sunshine (Cornwall, UK)! Put a ‘hot’ water bottle (or 2, or more!) in the fridge, so you rotate when they warm up! Clearly, you fill it/them with cold water to start with… under your head at night,
We’re ALL doing our BEST…!
Wherever we are in our lives, it can be easy to berate ourselves for all we’re NOT attending to… today, yesterday, last week, last year… in our lives so far… & so it goes on…! We all make the BEST choices we can, given the context, our knowledge & awareness, what we sense as our options & taking into account our priorities at the
Using the seasons to support our actions
Just as I encourage people to be aware of the cycles of the moon (women in particular) & use the changing pace, I thoroughly recommend we all do the same around the seasons… (btw it was a New Moon yesterday morning – anyone sense any surges of energy…?!) So, go gently with yourself if you become a little more slothful in Autumn & Winter,
Re-jiggling our priorities
Every so often, it seems vital to me, that we reflect & possibly ‘re-jiggle our priorities’, as they tend to change throughout the course of our lives. Sometimes we do this ‘voluntarily’, sometimes external events side swipe us & ‘insist’ we make those changes! Many of my clients have treatments with me as their current (or ongoing) priority is their health & wellbeing, whether
‘Efficient’ Exercise!
I am a lover of what I call ‘efficient’ exercise, & what I mean by that is one exercise that achieves several goals at once… That way, I need only do that one thing & I feel I’m good to go for the day & anything else is a bonus! Now, some of you will be serious exercisers… knock yourself out, I did that
Fear…
Fear is a compass telling you where to go… something I came across ages ago & it flashed into my head recently slightly differently – Fear is showing me the next ‘piece’ to work on… Frankly, I can’t remember what was on my mind, or going on in my life at the time, but, those of you who know me well, know I keep
Anecdotal Evidence or Wisdom
I was having a conversation recently with someone (male) who was a little scathing around ‘anecdotal evidence’ within medicine & I began to wonder if it was because I am a woman that I am very happy with what I would call anecdotal wisdom… And, could it also be that growing up at a different time, things that are now perceived to be dangerous,
